Find Solum at the 2026 Calvin Festival of Faith & Writing!
We are thrilled to announce that our Solum masthead will be presenting a table at the upcoming Calvin Festival of Faith & Writing, from April 16th-18th 2026. We will be hosting book signings, author interviews, and featuring all of our titles available for purchase. Thank you so much to the Calvin Center for Faith & Writing for this lovely opportunity!
Are you or your literary organization attending as well? Let us know in the comments below! We would love to meet as many people from our Solum community as possible.
Landing by Nora Kirkham Has Arrived
Our newest chapbook, Landing by Nora Kirkham, debuted on Thanksgiving Day. This mystifying little chapbook can now be enjoyed in your hands, or given to those you love. Order today to support the work of Solum and the craft of our authors.
Nora Kirkham’s debut collection Landing unearths poems from alpine meadows and retrieves words from cold Atlantic waters. Traversing the subway system of Tokyo and the coast of Maine, it explores the radiant, hidden things in landscapes, encounters with transcendence, history, and love. Written over a span of years, Landing is a constellation and a time capsule of an itinerant era.
Solum Monthly Feature
Thank you all who submitted to December’s Solum Monthly Feature. We hope this rhythmic showcase provides you with an opportunity to revel in the craft of our community, and spurs you on to make and submit yourself. Each month there will be a new opportunity to participate in this collective endeavor of beauty & excellence.
December—Mike Bonikowsky
This month’s Solum Monthly Feature heralds from one of our beloved authors, Mike Bonikowsky. Mike is the writer behind two of our most iconic Solum titles— Red Stuff and The Shepherd of Princes. We are delighted to feature one of his poems, “Advent 2023,” which bears the usual grit and redemptive underpinning that is so central to his craft. Enjoy as you enter your own Advent undertaking.
Submit to the Next Solum Monthly Feature!
Solum is always accepting submissions for our future Solum Monthly Feature posts, such as the one you’re reading here. Each month there will be a new opportunity for one of your poems, short stories, essays, homilies, or visual art to be featured. Your piece will be followed by an artist statement, and if applicable, your Substack page will be invited to collaborate on the post.
The submission guidelines follow the same parameters as listed on our website here.
To be considered, please email emma.winchell@solumpress.com with your selected pieces, and include Solum Monthly Feature [Month] as the title of the email. We look forward to sharing your craft with our community!
